The ‘Building an Employable and Engaged Workforce’ program has been established through collaborative school, community and local industry partnerships with an emphasis on delivering world class educational experiences.
The vision behind the program reflects Education Queensland Towards Q2 agendas providing innovative curriculum and modern training experiences which address the skills shortage facing our growing economy. However, the programs foremost goal centres around the students of Glenden SS, building self-esteem in a remote school, engaging students in schooling, increasing academic achievement, creating motivation and confidence to succeed. These aspects together are increasing students’ opportunity for employment upon completion of their schooling through enhanced access to industry, employability skills and knowledge of career pathways.
